At All Saints personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education is an embedded part of our bespoke curriculum designed to meet the broad and balanced needs of all our pupils. It permeates every aspect of school life. Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC) is at the heart of our school ethos. Our PSHE education enables children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society and prepare them for life and work in modern Britain. It aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially and tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. We provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society, promoting British Values both explicitly and implicitly throughout their school life.

Following our consultation on our Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) programme we  teach RSE throughout the year each week alongside PHSE.

Relationships, Sex and Health Education: Life to the Full

At our school, we believe in nurturing the whole child—spiritually, morally, and emotionally. To deliver our statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE), we proudly use Ten Ten Resources’ Life to the Full programme.

Rooted in the Catholic Christian belief that we are made in the image and likeness of God, the programme takes its name from Scripture: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).
Through a media-rich, spiral curriculum, Life to the Full guides pupils from EYFS to Year 6 across three core modules:
    • Created and Loved by God: Exploring identity, dynamic changes in our developing bodies, emotional wellbeing, and physical health.
    • Created to Love Others: Building healthy friendships, navigating respectful relationships, online safety, and understanding civil communities.
    • Created to Live in Community: Examining our broader responsibilities, Catholic Social Teaching, and how we care for the world around us.

Parent Partnership: We recognize that parents are the first educators of their children. Parents can securely access summaries of all school lessons, instructional videos, and prayer suggestions at home through the Ten Ten Online Parent Portal. Please contact the school office for our unique login credentials.

Protected Characteristics

There are 9 protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 and all schools should be able to demonstrate that no form of discrimination is tolerated and that pupils show respect for those who share the protected characteristics:

  • age
  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • marriage and civil partnership
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race
  • religion or belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation

We ensure that our children are given opportunities to develop age-appropriate knowledge and understanding through a well-planned and delivered curriculum.

We believe that children should be able to recognise themselves and their circumstances so they can see their lived experiences validated and valued.

Through our RSE Curriculum we ensure our children learn about tolerance and respect for all protected Characteristics.

We gathered together to celebrate “All Saints Retreat Day”. We spoke about our house Saints and what makes them so special. We then went back to our classrooms where we chose a song that represented then and worked collaboratively to create a liturgical dance. We will showcase these to you in our next Golden Assembly. ⭐️💛 ...
